Director-General of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanom, has urged the Ethiopian federal government and regional Authorities to end armed conflict and start “pursuing real political solutions.”
In his open message on X to the Ethiopian authorities, Dr. Tedros underscored that Ethiopia “needs no more war.”
“For three years, armed conflict in Amhara has cost countless lives. Oromia continues to bleed. Tigray teeters back into open fighting, Afar has been drawn in, and Benishangul-Gumuz remains gripped by violence too. Enough. I urge the federal government and all regional leaders to choose dialogue over guns, and to pursue real political solutions,” he wrote.
