The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has announced today that the ruling Prosperity Party won 438 seats out of the 501 constituencies where elections were conducted for the House of Peoples’ Representatives on June 1, 2026.
According to the announcement, the party won the highest result in Oromia region, where it secured 167 seats.
Re-elections are scheduled in four constituencies in Central Ethiopia Region and Sidama two each. Of the remaining 33 seats in Central Ethiopia whose results were finalized Prosperity Party won 26 seats, Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice (EZEMA) won two seats, Coalition for Ethiopian Unity won 1 seat and Freedom and Equality Party won one seat.
