The Ethiopian House of Peoples’ Representatives has ratified four air services agreements signed between Ethiopia and Sierra Leone, Angola, Bangladesh, and Eswatini, expanding the legal framework governing air transport relations with these four nations.
The agreement between Ethiopia and Sierra Leone provides a framework for airlines of both countries to operate direct services to designated destinations, according to the committee’s report.
The agreement with Angola establishes a formal framework for aviation cooperation between the two countries, the committee told lawmakers during deliberations whereas the agreement with Bangladesh takes into account the growth in air transport traffic between the two countries, the committee noted in its presentation to the House.

Lawmakers also approved the agreement with Eswatini. The committee’s report indicated that the agreement allows cargo operations without flight-frequency restrictions and includes provisions permitting the duty-free importation of equipment required for flight operations.
