Ethiopia has begun discussions with the Czech Republic to import and deploy approximately 500 electric buses for public transport operations across the country, according to a statement from the Ministry of Transport and Logistics.
State Minister of Transport and Logistics, Berho Hassan, held talks with Czech Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tomáš Růžička, focusing on the potential acquisition and rollout of the fleet.
The state minister indicated that Ethiopia is prioritizing the expansion of electric mobility—particularly within mass public transport—and emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting this transition.
