Ethiopian Airlines has received its first Airbus A350-1000, becoming the first African airline to operate this model. The aircraft has a seating capacity of 395 passengers.
The airline upgraded four of its A350-900 orders to the larger A350-1000 variant, bringing its fleet to four A350-1000s and two A350-900s. This addition enhances Ethiopian Airlines’ position as a leader in Africa’s aviation industry.
The A350-1000 offers improved fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions compared to older aircraft models. Ethiopian Airlines now operates a total of 21 A350 family aircraft, with 14 more expected to join its fleet in the future.
