The 3rd round of intensive negotiation on the GERD was held from 22nd to 24th of October 2023, in Cairo, Egypt.

According to Eng. Sileshi Bekele(PhD)- Chief Negotiator & Advisor on Transboundary Rivers and GERD- the negotiation ‘witnessed some improvements’.

It was also reported that another round of discussion was set to be held in December 2023, here in Addis Ababa.

“Ethiopia remains committed to reaching a win-win outcome based on the cardinal principle of equitable and reasonable utilization of the Nile River,” Sileshi asserted.
